Players sign up as individuals with a maximum of 20 players and 2 goalies. Each player is guaranteed 2 periods of ice time with NHL alumni in a charity game. Teams will be selected in advance. Each player is encouraged to fundraise to provide critical funding to support Easter Seals Camp Horizon.
Players will be placed on either of the two teams at random and NHL alumni and celebrities will be dispersed among the two teams. Each player will be provided with a Hockey for Horizon jersey as a souvenir of the experience.
As this is a charity game benefitting people with disabilities and medical conditions, each player is asked to fundraise as entry, which will provide critical funding to support Easter Seals Camp Horizon. There is no minimum requirement, but the top two fundraisers will become team captains and get to choose the NHL Alumni and celebrity players for their team.
The game is two 30-minute periods straight time with a short intermission in between.
Game Rules
The game is two 30-minute periods of continuous play. There are no faceoffs or stoppages. When a goal is scored the scoring team must clear the zone.
Offsides: When the ref whistles offside the offensive team must dump the puck and clear the zone.
Penalties: When the ref whistles penalties the game remains in play. Penalties will be 3 minutes.
Fighting will not be tolerated. Anyone fighting is tossed from the game.
